Do I really need two permits for one deck?

Two approvals from two different offices, yes: the village signs off on zoning, then the county issues the building permit. We handle both, in the order they actually get approved, so you are not waiting on a resubmission.

Is my Sunbury address actually in Delaware County?

Yes, the village and the area immediately around it are Delaware County, not Licking. That is worth knowing since a lot of general Central Ohio deck advice assumes Licking County's rules, which do not apply here.

My lot is over an acre. Does that change anything?
