A lot of failed railing was surface-screwed to decking boards instead of the frame underneath. We attach to blocking rated for guard rail load.
Material matched to the deck
Wood, composite, aluminum and cable railing all attach differently. We match the system to what your deck can actually carry.
Height and spacing to code
Guard rail height and baluster spacing follow the current code. Framing and connection details we give before permit are advisory: final specs are confirmed on the stamped plan with the local building authority at permit.
Stand-alone or bundled
Railing gets quoted on its own when that is all you need, or folded into a repair or new build when it is part of a bigger job.

Railing cost depends on material, run length and how much of the existing frame is reusable, so we quote after we see it. Send a photo of the current railing and we will tell you what is involved.

Can I get railing replaced without redoing the whole deck?
Yes, railing is one of our most common stand-alone jobs.
Why did my old railing come loose?
Most loose railing was attached to decking boards, not the frame underneath. That holds for a while under normal use and then fails under real load. We attach to blocking rated to carry it.
What railing materials do you install?
Wood, composite, aluminum and cable systems. Each attaches differently and carries a different look and maintenance schedule, and we will tell you honestly which one fits your deck.
Is there a code requirement for railing height?
Yes, guard rail height and baluster spacing are set by code once a deck is above a certain height off grade. We build to the current requirements and confirm specifics on the stamped plan at permit.
