Some decks are past the point of a repair fixing anything. We tear it out safely, haul it away, and build the replacement, usually as one job instead of two separate calls.
Before anything comes down, we check what is actually failing: framing, footings, or just the surface. Some footings check out and get reused in the replacement, which saves real money.
Safe teardown
Structural risk gets handled first: unstable framing, loose posts, anything that could shift while the crew is working.
Hauled, not left in a pile
Demolition debris leaves with the crew. You are not left with a pile of old decking to deal with yourself.
The replacement is a new build
Once the old deck is out, the replacement goes through the same design, permit and framing process as any new deck. It is not a shortcut version.

Demolition and replacement cost depends on the size of the existing deck, how it comes apart, and the material you pick for the rebuild, so we quote after seeing it in person. Run the replacement size through the estimator for a build-cost range once you know what you want.

How do I know if I need a repair or a full teardown?
We dig to look before we promise anything. If the framing or footings have failed rather than just the surface, replacement is usually the honest answer over patching a repair that will not hold.
Does a replacement deck need its own permit?
Yes. Once the old structure is out, the replacement goes through the same zoning and building permit process as any new deck.
Can you reuse my existing footings in the replacement?
Sometimes, and it saves real money when it works. We dig to check depth and diameter against what the new frame needs, and tell you honestly if they check out.
What happens to the old decking and framing?
It leaves with the crew as part of the job. You are not left to haul it yourself.
