DECKS

Deck repair in Central Ohio.

Loose rail posts, rotted stair stringers, a ledger that was never flashed. Most of what comes across the phone is repair, not a full rebuild, and we will tell you honestly which one you actually need.

WHAT WE SEE MOST

The same five problems, on decks of every age.

Ledger and flashing
The board bolted to the house is the one failure that can take the whole deck with it. We open the area, check the flashing, and fix it before anything else.
Rail posts and railing
Surface-screwed posts loosen over time. We reset or replace them to hold real load, not just look attached.
Stair stringers
Rot starts at the ground contact point. A stringer swap is common and does not always mean rebuilding the stairs.
Footings and posts
We dig to look before we promise anything. Sometimes an existing footing checks out and gets reused, which saves real money.
WHAT IT COSTS

Priced by what we find, not a flat rate.

Repair scope ranges from a single rail post to a full reframe, so we quote after we see the deck in person, not before. Send a photo and we will tell you what kind of job it is before we schedule a visit.
DECK REPAIR QUESTIONS

Asked before the first visit, answered here.

How do I know if my deck needs repair or a full rebuild?
We dig to look before we promise anything. Age, framing type, and what the last owner actually bolted to the house all matter more than how the deck looks from the yard.
Is a rotted ledger board a big deal?
Yes. It is the connection carrying the deck to the house, and it is the one failure that can bring the whole structure down. If we find unflashed or rotted ledger framing, that gets fixed first regardless of what else is on the list.
Can you repair a deck you did not build?
Yes, most of our repair calls are decks we did not originally build.
Do you work on older, builder-grade decks?
Often. A lot of subdivision decks around Central Ohio are five to fifteen years old with surface-screwed rail posts and no flashing. That is repair work, not always a rebuild.
